BVI High School Students and their Tech Teachers spent a morning in February
going over the benefits of getting the students involved the JVDPS's Sloop
Project. The school is trying to raise the awareness of the students in the
benefits of helping with the building of the boat. Project director Capt. Kevin
Gray gave a 2 1/2 hr seminar about all the different aspects of the building
process and how it relates to their future in the BVI's economy and the need for
technical skills.

The jobs program will expand into the main high school with several of the
students signing up for to earn and learn jobs during their
holidays from school. Two girls have also signed up to take on the
administration of the project. They are going to keep all paper work and
clerical work up to date, along with creating a colouring book of the
construction for the JVD Primary School.
